Orlen plans construction of bioLNG refueling stations in Poland
Orlen plans to build a nationwide network of bioLNG refueling stations in Poland under its LAPIS project. In the base scenario, the network will include 21 stations, with the final number adjusted to market conditions. The first bioLNG station is scheduled to open in Płock in the second half of 2026 and will serve as a pilot for future investments. The project responds to rising regulatory requirements for advanced renewable fuels in transport and supports compliance with Poland’s National Indicative Target.
LAPIS is designed to integrate the entire biomethane value chain, from production and liquefaction to distribution and retail sales. Orlen expects the initiative to accelerate the decarbonization of heavy transport and strengthen its position as a leading supplier of low-emission gaseous fuels in Central Europe.
