Poland becoming important digital infrastructure market for data centers
Poland is becoming one of Europe’s key digital infrastructure markets as cloud computing and AI drive investment in data centers. The country already accounts for more than one third of data center capacity in Central and Eastern Europe, while the market could grow from about 300 MW today to nearly 500 MW by 2030, with more than half linked to AI. According to Adam Ponichtera of Data4 Poland, Warsaw is one of the region’s fastest-growing hubs, helped by Poland’s strategic location, available land and room for expansion.
Western hubs such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Dublin face energy and land constraints, making Poland more attractive for hyperscale and AI projects. The main challenges are energy access, grid connections and faster administrative procedures.
