Survey: 46% of Poles think EU should abandon climate goals, 72% believe in benefits
Nearly half of Poles, 46%, believe the EU should abandon its ambitious climate goals, according to an international E.ON Foundation survey covering 11 countries. Although this is 8 percentage points lower than a year earlier, Poland still has one of the highest shares of climate-goal skeptics in Europe, behind only Hungary. At the same time, 72% of Poles believe the energy transition will support long-term prosperity, above the European average of 67%. Poles support renewable energy, but want it at affordable prices and fear the financial burden of transformation.
Nuclear, solar, and wind energy were the most preferred sources for Poland’s future energy system.
