Ukraine rebuilding begins
Poland's state development bank BGK has signed financing agreements worth PLN 169 million under a programme designed to help Polish companies participate in Ukraine's reconstruction effort. The initiative offers loans of up to PLN 10 million on preferential terms and targets businesses looking to expand operations across the eastern border while contributing to rebuilding infrastructure, industrial facilities and public services damaged during the war.
The programme is part of a wider strategy aimed at positioning Polish firms as leading suppliers and contractors once large-scale reconstruction accelerates. Construction companies, engineering groups, logistics operators and manufacturers are expected to be among the main beneficiaries. Officials argue that Polish businesses have a natural advantage thanks to geographic proximity, established commercial ties and experience operating in the region.
For investors, the programme signals that Warsaw intends to play a central role in Ukraine's eventual recovery, creating opportunities that could stretch across multiple sectors for years to come.
