As many as six out of ten micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Poland would have difficult access to a bank loan without a de minimis guarantee program implemented by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, according to a BGK report.
Without a de minimis guarantee, every fourth company would have no chance at all for credit, and every third would get financing on worse terms: more expensive, smaller or for a shorter time, BGK said.
The program, which has already benefited about 160,000 companies, so far has contributed to the creation or maintenance of over 200,000 jobs, and the total value of the loan covered by guarantees is nearly PLN 120 billion.
The de minimis guarantee is most often used by micro-companies (76 percent) and small enterprises (18 percent).
