PGNiG Upstream Norway, the Norwegian unit of PKN Orlen, with its license partners submitted an application for approval of the development and exploitation of the Verdande field in the Norwegian Sea.

According to the plan submitted to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, drilling is to start at the end of 2024, and production will start a year later. Ultimately, production will be carried out from three wells that will be connected to the infrastructure of the nearby Norne deposit.

Verdande is an oil and gas field with recoverable resources estimated at 36.3 million barrels of oil equivalent. It extends over six concessions and consists of two hydrocarbon accumulations: Cape Vulture and Alve Nord East.
