Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) is set to gain sweeping new powers to protect consumers online, especially in e-commerce and financial services. Working with key ministries, the government plans to implement EU Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) rules, enabling stronger cross-border enforcement. The reforms would allow UOKiK to block websites or specific online content, conduct undercover “test purchases” using false identities, inspect company premises and vehicles, seize documents, and demand explanations from staff. These measures aim to combat digital fraud, pyramid schemes, and unfair financial practices operating across EU countries.

The changes would also help Polish consumers resolve disputes with foreign online sellers. The draft law is expected to be adopted in early 2026.
