Poland building anti-drone shield and will be active in a few months
Poland is preparing to launch a national anti-drone defense system to protect its airspace from unmanned aerial threats. Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk announced that Poland will not wait for the EU’s planned “drone wall” project and will instead develop its own system in parallel, using domestic technology and industry. The first operational components are expected within three months, with full readiness planned in two years. At least half of the contracts are to be awarded to Polish companies specializing in electronics, radar, electronic warfare and software. The project will be co-funded through the EU SAFE program, which supports defense production.
The initiative is part of a broader modernization plan, including increased spending on military drones and faster procurement processes.
