Polish gas port, build in Ulsan, South Korea, scheduled to be launched in April
Poland’s second LNG terminal is nearing a key milestone, with its floating unit set to be launched on April 30 in Ulsan after just four months of construction. Built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, the vessel is progressing on schedule, according to Sławomir Hinc. Full completion, testing, and commissioning will take over another year.
The FSRU (floating storage and regasification unit) will boost Poland’s energy security, with a capacity of about 6 bcm of gas annually, complementing the existing terminal in Świnoujście LNG Terminal. After construction, the vessel will travel about 12,500 nautical miles to the Gdańsk Bay, where it is expected to begin operations in 2028. The project is supported by parallel pipeline and offshore infrastructure development in Poland.
