Positive economic indicators in Germany signal good news for Poland

For the first time in two years, Germany’s ZEW Economic Sentiment Index increased in February to 26 points, exceeding expectations. While the current economic assessment remains negative (-88.5 points), optimism is growing, driven by expectations for new government policies after the upcoming elections.
The positive outlook is crucial for Poland, Germany’s fifth-largest trading partner (EUR 172 billion in 2024). Improved sentiment may boost consumption and economic recovery, benefiting Polish exports.
Despite concerns over potential U.S. tariffs, businesses remain confident. If Germany’s CDU/CSU, SPD, and FDP coalition secures a two-thirds majority, it could adjust debt limits, increasing public investments. This shift may further strengthen economic ties with Poland.
