Antal and CFA Society Poland have published the 3rd edition of the report Women in Finance 2021, whose strategic partner is Bank BPH. It shows that despite the pandemic, the percentage of specialists and managers assessing the role of women as strategic is growing year by year, from 12 percent in 2018 through 17 percent in 2019 to 26 percent in 2021. A key factor determining the influence of women in the area of finance is the decreasing wage inequality between women and men – 56 percent of respondents assessed this aspect as very important.
One of the indicators reflecting the difference between the average earnings of women and men is the gender pay gap indicator. On the one hand, Poland has a lot to be proud of in this field – in 2019, according to Eurostat data, in Poland it was only 8.5 percent, which places the country on the 6th position in the entire EU, for which the average is 14.1 percent. Unfortunately, the financial sector does not look so good – in this area, the gender pay gap is 30.8 percent and Poland is also 6th but from the end (only ahead of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, France and Lithuania).
