Columbus Energy sells companies in Czech Republic and Slovakia
A publicly listed renewable energy company has sold five subsidiaries operating in the Czech and Slovak markets to an unrelated foreign buyer. One remaining subsidiary will continue to provide technical and maintenance services for existing installations. The transaction value was not disclosed, but the company noted that the sold entities had already been fully impaired, meaning the sale will not materially affect the group’s financial results. The divestment follows earlier write-downs totaling over 30 million złoty, driven by the suspension of subsidies in the Czech Republic, delayed projects in Brno, and limited growth prospects in both markets.
The deal includes safeguards ensuring priority repayment to the Columbus Group from any future legal recoveries by the sold companies.
