EU funds boost Poland
Poland will receive €9.4 billion in EU Recovery Fund (KPO) payments by Christmas, bringing total disbursements to over 90% of allocated funds. Minister of Funds Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz confirmed the record transfer and plans to submit two more payment applications this year. All KPO grant-financed projects must conclude by August 2026, while loan-funded initiatives have until 2030.
Revisions to the KPO are set for 2025, aiming to optimize investments, including school insulation and other infrastructure projects. Key beneficiaries include the Clean Air program, farmers improving supply chains, and railway upgrades.
Beyond KPO, Poland manages €76 billion in 2021–2027 EU cohesion funds. Deputy Minister Jan Szyszko highlighted progress, with 10,350 agreements totaling PLN 99.9 billion signed, supporting nursery construction, expressways, and job programs. Poland’s decentralized EU fund management system ensures regional growth and effective investment, resisting new centralization efforts.
