Gołębiewski’s hotel in Pobierowo welcomes guests for first time
Tadeusz Gołębiewski left behind one of the most remarkable stories in Polish business. He began with modest wafer production, which grew into Tago, a major sweets producer exporting worldwide. In 1991, he entered the hotel industry and created a new category in Poland: large-scale hotels combining family leisure, recreation and conference facilities. His hotels in Mikołajki, Białystok, Wisła and Karpacz became symbols of bold investment and personal control. Gołębiewski avoided corporations, the stock market and outside advisers, running his businesses his own way.
His most ambitious project was the giant hotel in Pobierowo, with more than 1,000 rooms, an aquapark, marina and congress center. He died before its planned opening in 2026.
