The cure for stress has four paws: study

Source: Brit

Although most of us have learned to live with a pandemic, many Poles feel more stress than they did two years ago, which is associated with poorer well-being. How to improve them? A recent survey by 3D Market on behalf of food distributor Brit indicates that having pets has significantly enhanced our mental condition.

Nearly 8 million dogs and 7 million cats live in Polish homes. This means that almost half of us own a dog, and 31 percent own both a dog and a cat.

We also feel an increasingly strong bond with our four-legged companions.

"Extremely important in building relationships with four-legged animals is trust and learning to set wise boundaries. In recent years, there has been a definite increase in the number of animals that have separation problems, that is, those associated with excessive attachment to their caregivers. This is often related to the fact that they choose (or are forced) to work remotely. As a result, more and more people are looking for reliable sources of knowledge that talk about working with pets, spending more time with them, taking them wherever possible, but also planning a trip in terms of their dog or seeking professional care for them when separation is necessary," Michał Dąbrowski, a behaviorist and trainer, said.
