On January 7, Climate and Environment Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced that the wind farm bill is ready and awaiting parliamentary review after being submitted to the Prime Minister's Office. The bill, aimed at boosting wind energy investments, has sparked political debate, particularly over the minimum distance of turbines from buildings. The proposed distance is 500 meters, but the Ministry of Agriculture, backed by PSL, advocates for at least 700 meters.
Hennig-Kloska emphasized wind energy’s growing importance, currently contributing 35% of Poland’s energy mix. She also noted that wholesale energy prices have dropped significantly due to increased wind production. The government plans to expand offshore wind farms, with the first Baltic Sea turbine expected by 2025.
