MJM Holdings signs preliminary agreement to acquire GIA Investment Companies

On May 19, 2025, MJM Holdings entered a preliminary agreement to acquire five companies under GIA Investments, pending regulatory approval from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). This acquisition is expected to significantly boost MJM’s market position, increasing its annual insurance premium placement by over PLN 410 million and expanding its expertise in group life insurance and employee benefits.
The deal covers the full acquisition of Polska Grupa Brokerska, International Brokers Group, BD Advisory and Assistance, GSU Centrum Usług Wspólnych, and GSU Polisa. Once finalized, MJM’s total annual premium volume will exceed PLN 1.5 billion. The move follows MJM’s recent acquisition of Leadenhall Insurance in November 2024 and is aligned with its broader "buy-and-build" growth strategy, backed by Corsair Capital.
The founders of GIA will become shareholders in MJM and remain actively involved in operations, contributing their deep knowledge of group life insurance distribution and established client relationships. MJM President Marcin Ślotała emphasized that the integration will enhance the company’s capabilities, especially in placing nearly PLN 500 million in group life premiums annually and expanding its distribution network.
GIA President Mariusz Goetze highlighted the strategic benefits of joining MJM, including access to capital, expertise, and increased scale. MJM Supervisory Board Chairman Vincent Vandendael noted the partnership will strengthen MJM’s leadership among independent brokers. Head of M&A Grzegorz Kruk added that this transaction reflects MJM’s ongoing consolidation strategy in the insurance brokerage market.
MJM Holdings operates across various insurance segments through brands like Attis Broker, Smartt Re, MJM Brokers, MJM Risk Management, and Leadenhall Insurance. GIA Investments, a key player in life insurance and assistance, manages PLN 410 million in premiums and serves over 250,000 policyholders.
