Poland establishes the West Pomeranian Hydrogen Valley

The Port of Szczecin-Świnoujście, alongside other parties from across the business, technology, and R&D sectors, has signed a letter of intent to establish the West Pomeranian Hydrogen Valley.
Hydrogen valleys are innovative projects created in locations with appropriate industrial and natural resources to build a low-emission energy system and develop the country’s energy security. A total of five hydrogen valleys are expected to be implemented across Poland, and the first one was established in 2021 in the Podkarpackie region.
Poland has ambitions and potential to become an exporter of mature hydrogen technologies in the perspective of this decade, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Ireneusz Zyska said. He underscored that Grupa Azoty and Zakłady Chemiczne Police in Western Pomerania “are already participating in the hydrogen economy, producing hydrogen for their own technological needs".
Zyska emphasized that nearly 20% of renewable energy sources are located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and said that "offshore wind farms with a huge potential for generating green renewable energy” will be built there.
