Poland has a low vacancy rate with most of EU ahead

According to Eurostat, Poland had one of the lowest job vacancy rates in the EU in Q4 2024, at 0.7%, alongside Bulgaria and Romania. This rate measures the proportion of open positions relative to total jobs (filled and vacant). The EU average was 2.3%, with the highest rates seen in Belgium and the Netherlands (4.1%) and Austria (3.6%).
Compared to Q4 2023, Poland’s vacancy rate fell by 0.1 percentage point, suggesting reduced demand for new workers or lower employee turnover. Vacancy rates declined in 17 EU countries, remained stable in 6, and rose in only 4. The highest vacancy rates by sector were in administrative support, construction, IT, and hospitality.
