Cybersecurity imperative for National Procurement Policy for next four years
Poland's new State Procurement Policy for 2026–2029 aims to strengthen national economic competitiveness and resilience by prioritizing domestic companies in public tenders – especially in sensitive sectors like cybersecurity, defense, and infrastructure. The strategy promotes digital sovereignty by limiting the role of third-country vendors and emphasizing secure capital origins, ownership structures, and data protection standards. It encourages including Polish SMEs in procurement processes and supports knowledge-sharing and skills development in public procurement.
Experts view this as a key opportunity to open the public market to innovative local firms. The policy, if implemented effectively, could reduce dependency on tech giants and enhance cyber resilience across government structures
