On the occasion of its jubilee, Raben took internet users on a journey to places that were badly damaged by human interference. This way of celebrating shows a great sense of responsibility for the fate of the planet and future generations, which is inscribed in the company's DNA. The route led through 11 countries in which Raben has its branches, and a total of 21 endangered places presented by the company's employees and eco-enthusiasts. The culmination of the 5-month expedition is voting for the project which, according to the customers and employees of the company, as well as Internet users, is the most important, valuable, and deserving of support. Votes can be cast by the end of November for one of the three initiatives:
1) Protection of bats in forests in the northern part of Baden-Württemberg. The project involves the creation of 100 nesting places, each for 100 animals, which makes a total of 10,000 bats! This will allow recreating this rare mammal species in Germany, and at the same time regulate the population of insects in a natural way.
2) Clearing beaches in Italy with the QYSEA FIFISH V6s underwater drone. It allows the assessment of the negative impact of human activities on the marine environment, e.g. the amount of plastic, damage to the bottom; it can also collect samples of living organisms, water, or sediment while cleaning the seabed and making observations. Raben Sittam and The Black Bag organization want to program a drone that will help clean every part of the coast in Italy, starting from Liguria.
3) Building an oasis for white storks in the Czech Republic. The project involves the creation, within a few years, of an area with wetlands and ponds with a total area of 40,000 sqm, which will contribute to an increase in the population of these birds from several dozen to several hundred annually and an increase in the number of nests and resting places on the migration routes. The protection of the white stork is associated with the protection of many other species of animals (butterflies, insects, lizards, frogs, other birds) and plants (here specifically - rare species of orchids), and thus guarantees a healthy ecosystem.
"You don't have to be a genius to support the climate," emphasizes Ewald Raben, CEO of Raben Group, referring to the jubilee Eco2Way route.
“The future of these places depends on us. I encourage you to vote for one of these places - together we can help them!" he appeals.
Concern for the natural environment more and more often ceases to be just a fashion and becomes one of the daily activities undertaken by large business players who care about the welfare of the planet. For Raben Group, ecology is one of the main pillars of the corporate social responsibility strategy. The company is aware of the impact that the TFL industry has on the natural environment. Therefore, each year Raben sets itself more and more ambitious goals in terms of reducing CO2 emissions and educates about the need to take actions for a better, green tomorrow. Proof of this is undoubtedly the jubilee Eco2Way route, which will culminate in the real support of one of the places visited by eco-enthusiasts from Raben.
Voting takes place via the website https://www.raben90years.com/eco-voting/, available in 14 language versions (13 countries where Raben operates and English). The project with the highest number of votes will receive funding for its implementation from Raben Group. Voting lasts from September 30 to November 30, 2021.
