Cretotech Instruments selected by OrbitFab to participate in ASTRAL project
Creotech Instruments has been selected by OrbitFab to participate in the ASTRAL project, developed with the European Space Agency. Creotech will supply two of its HyperSat satellite platforms for an orbital refueling demonstration scheduled for 2028–2029. The platforms will support a servicing spacecraft and a target satellite, which will launch together before conducting fuel transfer, separation, approach, and redocking tests in orbit. The project aims to advance in-orbit servicing technologies, including autonomous docking and precise satellite maneuvering.
These solutions could extend satellite lifespans, improve mission efficiency, and create new commercial servicing opportunities. Creotech said the selection confirms HyperSat’s technological maturity and strengthens its position in the international space market.
