As many as 29 Polish cities feature in the list of 100 worst cities for air quality in Europe prepared by the Swiss air monitoring platform IQAir.
IQAir collected data on the toxic fine particulate matter – PM2.5 – that impact our health seriously as they can be drawn deep into the lungs and may cause respiratory problems. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a maximum of 10 micrograms of PM2.5 per cubic meter is considered acceptable.
There are 24 Italian cities in the worst 100 in Europe. Ghaziabad in India has the worst overall air quality in the world, the report states.
