Employment has fallen and wages no longer growing as quickly

In February 2025, average employment in Poland’s business sector stood at 6.45 million, down 0.9% year-on-year, while the average gross monthly salary rose by 7.9% to PLN 8,613.14, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Employment fell by 7,000 jobs, mainly due to export sector adjustments. However, economists expect hiring to recover with upcoming economic growth.
Wage pressure is easing, ending a three-year period of double-digit increases. Future salary growth is forecasted around 8%, driven by lower inflation and a smaller rise in minimum wages. Growth in wages remains high mainly in energy supply, administrative support, and other service sectors.
