Europe seeking direction at the 17th European Economic Congress

The 17th European Economic Congress (EEC), held on April 23–25, 2025 in Katowice, set a new record with over 200 sessions, 1,300 speakers, and 18,000 participants—13,500 attending in person. Under the theme “Together for a Safe Future,” the event brought together business leaders, policymakers, academics, and media to discuss economic policy amid global instability and geopolitical tensions. Key discussions emphasized the need for enhanced security across competitiveness, energy, defence, and technological sovereignty.
The Congress highlighted the growing importance of direct dialogue and collaboration in addressing Europe’s challenges. Its success once again confirmed EEC’s position as Central Europe’s largest and most influential business and policy forum.
