Schools and universities are taking over office buildings in new trend
Education providers are increasingly moving into office buildings in Poland, creating a new trend in the commercial real estate market. Two models dominate: primary and secondary schools renting office space, and universities buying or leasing entire buildings to expand campuses and teaching centers. The shift is driven by limited land availability in city centers, rising numbers of students, and the need to launch new educational facilities quickly.
Modern office buildings offer flexible layouts, strong transport links, and higher technical standards than many traditional schools. Examples include the Metron office building in Warsaw, where a multilingual high school occupies around 3,000 square meters, and Olivia Business Centre, home to one of Poland’s largest schools operating in office space. Analysts expect the trend to accelerate as office oversupply after the pandemic meets growing educational demand.
