Eurostat: Poland has second lowest unemployment rate in EU
Poland continues to rank among European Union countries with the lowest unemployment. According to the latest data released by Eurostat, Poland recorded the second-lowest unemployment rate in the EU in December 2025, just behind the Czech Republic. Poland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.2%, unchanged from November, with around 576,000 people unemployed. The Czech Republic posted a slightly lower rate of 3.1%. In comparison, unemployment in the euro area was 6.2%, below market expectations, while the EU average was 5.9%.
Eurostat defines unemployment as the share of people aged 15–74 who are without work, actively seeking employment, and available to start within two weeks.
