Every tenth Pole goes without yearly medical check-up
Only 53 percent of working Poles undergo preventive health screenings at least once a year, while 10 percent never do so, according to a LongLife report. Financial, organizational and information barriers play a major role, particularly for lower-income employees.
Private medical packages do not always solve the problem. Only 17 percent of employees have an individual package fully funded by their employer, while many must contribute toward coverage or additional tests. More than half of package holders have never received a personalized preventive screening plan, and many receive no follow-up after tests. LongLife argues that workplace-based screening could improve access by offering employees equal, convenient preventive care during working hours.
