Michał Probierz, the new coach of Poland's national football team, is set to earn a substantial salary. It is estimated that Probierz will earn at least PLN 1.2 million annually (€560,000 annually).
This is a significant sum, though considerably less than his predecessor, Fernando Santos, who earned PLN 700,000 monthly (PLN 8.4 million annually). Probierz's previous earnings at Cracovia were about PLN 120,000 per month, and his new role will see an increase in his compensation. This figure is though significantly lower compared to the highest-paid coaches in the tournament.
For instance, Gareth Southgate, the coach of England, is the highest-paid with an annual salary of €5.8 million. Julian Nagelsmann of Germany follows with €4.8 million, and Portugal's Roberto Martínez earns €4 million annually. Other notable salaries include France's Didier Deschamps at €3.8 million, Ronald Koeman of the Netherlands and Italy's Luciano Spaletti, both earning €3 million per year.
In comparison, coaches of smaller or less affluent national teams earn significantly less. For example, Marco Rossi of Hungary and Matjaž Kek of Slovenia both earn around €300,000 annually, while Ivan Hašek of the Czech Republic and Edward Iordănescu of Romania earn approximately €250,000 and €240,000 respectively
