Polish Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański said Poland is prepared for different scenarios as energy prices surge after the escalation of the Middle East conflict. He warned that sharp increases in oil and gas prices could affect the global economy, but stressed that Poland’s energy security remains stable thanks to diversified supply sources and expanded infrastructure. The government is monitoring developments and assessing the potential impact of higher energy costs on the domestic economy. Oil prices have risen sharply, with WTI exceeding USD 90 per barrel after a gain of more than 11.6%, while Brent reached about USD 92.6, compared with below USD 70 at the start of the conflict.

European gas prices also jumped about 50% in a week, raising concerns about inflation and competition for energy supplies.
