The number of freelance professionals in Poland reached more than 300,000 people, 12% more compared to the end of 2021. Most of them are young people aged 26-35. Almost 11% of freelancers have left their full-time job in favor of freelancing over the past year.
“Many young people enter the freelancing market without previous experience in full-time work,” says Przemysław Głoś, president of Useme platform that specializes in serving freelancers and their clients. He adds that Y and Z generations value the flexibility of work, which freelancing offers.
Greater independence, diversity of work, and often higher income are other factors that contribute to choosing freelance, Karolina Korzeniewska of Antal recruitment company said.
