Most Polish car companies want tariffs on China, yet 56% cooperate with Chinese companies
A survey by EuroMotoBarometr highlights a paradox in Poland’s automotive sector: 54% of companies support EU tariffs on Chinese vehicles, yet 56% still cooperate with Chinese partners. Polish firms are slightly more protectionist than the European average, but remain economically tied to China through imports and supply chains. At the same time, 60% believe Europe can lead the industry’s transformation despite global competition.
Confidence in China dominating the EV market has declined, although 43% of Polish firms still expect a Chinese leader by 2035. Electric vehicles continue gaining market share in the EU, reflecting a broader shift toward electrification and intensifying competition.
