Poland seeks growth reset
EFNI Spring 2026 in Warsaw focused on one central message: Poland’s long-standing growth model—built on cheap labor, foreign investment, technology transfer and generous EU funding—is nearing its limits, forcing the country to seek new engines of development.
Organized by the Lewiatan Confederation, the business forum reinforced its growing position alongside the main October EFNI event in Sopot. This year’s discussions centered on how Poland can better promote itself internationally to attract investment, strengthen strategic partnerships and raise its global profile.
Speakers stressed that while Poland remains an economic success story, its international recognition still lags behind its achievements. Historian Norman Davies argued the country should be better understood abroad.
Panelists highlighted sport and culture as potential tools of “soft power,” citing opportunities to build Poland’s brand through sporting diplomacy and flagship events such as the Chopin Competition. Debate also touched on Poland’s long-term Olympic ambitions as part of a broader image-building strategy.
