Poland’s growth test
Poland is outpacing much of the EU, with GDP rising 3.6% in 2025 versus 1.6% across the bloc, and nominal output surpassing $1 trillion. Strong exports—worth PLN 1.426 trillion in the first eleven months of 2025—underscore its deep integration into European supply chains. Foreign media, particularly in Austria, increasingly portray Poland as a dynamic economic partner rather than a low-cost production base.
Yet momentum alone won’t secure lasting advantage. Expansion based purely on exports is reaching its limits, offering little control over distribution or customer relationships. Markets such as Italy, Poland’s second-largest EU partner, demand local presence, trust, and brand-building.
Meanwhile, businesses face rising labor costs, regulatory uncertainty, and tax burdens. While sentiment is improving in sectors like manufacturing and IT, structural pressures persist, meaning Poland’s next phase depends on innovation, specialization, and stronger market positioning abroad.
