Sejm passes amendment to Labor Code making salary brackets mandatory in job offers

On May 9, the Polish Sejm passed an amendment to the Labor Code requiring salary ranges in job postings. According to ManpowerGroup, this promotes pay transparency, reduces recruitment time, and helps combat the gender pay gap. From November 2025, companies must include wage brackets in job ads and report gender pay disparities, following the EU Directive 2023/970.
Transparent offers attract better-matched candidates and lower hiring costs. However, without clear promotion and evaluation criteria, the law may also cause dissatisfaction. Median wages in Poland in November 2024 were PLN 6,842 gross, with men earning 3.4% more and women 3.3% less than the overall median, highlighting persistent gender pay inequality.
