Warsaw Główna station, reopened in 2021 after 24 years, remains largely unused despite costing over PLN 87 million to rebuild. Originally intended to handle suburban traffic and support operations during the modernization of Warszawa Zachodnia, it now serves only a handful of trains on weekdays for about two hours and is closed on weekends. Passenger numbers are low, around 1,500 daily in 2024, placing it among minor stations nationwide.

Experts argue the terminus concept is outdated and poorly integrated with city transport, making it unattractive to both carriers and travelers. With plans for a new cross city rail tunnel that may replace it, some suggest the station could eventually be demolished.
