The covid passport may become the event industry’s salvation from the fall lockdown

The Meeting and Events Industry Council (RPSiW) has joined the appeal formulated on 15 July 2021 in Gródek nad Dunajcem by the Council of the Polish Tourist Organisation and the Tourism Expert Council of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to use the coming weeks to urgently work out clear operating rules for entrepreneurs associated with the events industry (MICE). According to the Council, these guidelines will be the basis for making purchasing and business decisions for the autumn-winter period, and consequently for the survival prospects of the industry weakened by the 1.5-year lockdown.
The Council pointed out that the current limits on the allowable number of attendees at meetings and events still do not allow the industry to effectively rebuild its health and execute profitable projects like trade shows, conventions, and conferences, especially during the seasonally dead holiday season for these industries.
“As a result of inadequate restrictions, in the opinion of the Council members, for the longest frozen sectors of the Polish economy, the level of implementation of hotel services (especially in city hotels), events, incentive travel, concerts, fairs, congresses, conferences and group transport is glaringly low compared to other areas of the economy which, freed from limits, have already fully resumed their activities and are effectively working off losses”, RPSiW assessed.
