Poland lags significantly behind other European countries' gender representation in boards and management roles. While many European nations already have 40–50 percent of women in such positions, exceeding the EU directive’s 30 percent requirement, Poland struggles to meet these benchmarks. Henryka Bochniarz, Chair of the Main Council of Confederation Lewiatan, highlighted the issue during EFNI 2024.
“For years, women have been excluded from decision-making structures—not only in business but also in politics. With women making up 64 percent of Poland’s higher-educated population, ignoring their potential in a challenging labor market is a lost opportunity,” she stated.
Research indicates that companies with at least one-third representation of underrepresented genders perform better financially and make more sound business decisions.
