365 days wins Golden Raspberry 2021 statuette for worst-case scenario

The erotic film ‘365 days’, based on the best-selling novel by Blanka Lipińska, is making the history of Polish cinematography. The production received six nominations for the Golden Raspberries – statuettes awarded to the greatest film crap. The award went to the screenplay writer Tomasz Klimala.
This year's Golden Raspberries ceremony was traditionally held before the Oscars. Plastic fruit statuettes have been awarded to the worst film productions since the early 1980s, and yet Polish erotic is the first Polish film in history to receive this cheesy statuette. The production of ‘365 days’ competed for the award in six categories (for the worst film, director, actor, actress, and rip-off) but the creators managed to win only one of them – for the worst script.
"The nominations are pleasing because it is a success that no Polish film can boast of," Blanka Lipińska said in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza.
"For me, it is phenomenal, free advertising of books and films. To achieve a similar effect globally, I would probably have to spend tens of millions," she assessed.
"If the film wins these awards, it will start a second life. This will conquer Netflix's statistics, and at the same time people will find out that there is still a book available worldwide," she said before the results were announced.
Meanwhile, also in Poland, the film "triumphs". On Saturday, the picture won the Big Serpent for worst film of the year. The creators of the picture also received statuettes for the worst script and duo on the screen. Also three Serpents – for the worst directing, female role, and the effect of special care – went to Patryk Vega's 'Pętla'.
Serpents, the Polish equivalents of the Golden Raspberries, are awarded by the Pop-Cultural Academy of Everything, which includes film critics and journalists actively involved in culture and art. The purpose of the awards is to "draw attention to the condition of Polish film".
