American Point72 opened an office in Warsaw

Point72, an international asset management organization based in the USA, has opened its office in Warsaw. In 2021, the company plans to hire 150 specialists with expertise in technology, finance, data management, and operations, the company said.
"Over the next two years, Point72 expects the Warsaw office to become the company's largest branch outside the United States and support its key processes," the release reads.
As Gavin O'Connor, chief operating officer at Point72, emphasized, the importance of Warsaw in Europe has definitely increased in recent years, and the city has started to attract some of the best talents in the region, becoming the center of financial services.
"The opening of the Warsaw branch is a milestone in the development of Point72 and our teams in Poland will play a key role in supporting the further strategic development of the company," O'Connor added.
Responsibility for the development of the Warsaw office was taken over by Rafael Lopez Espinosa, Managing Director of Point72 in Poland. He is responsible for overseeing the company's operations in the country and the implementation of its strategic goals. Rafael Lopez Espinosa joined Point72 as a member of the strategy team in 2015 and has been leading the group since January 2019.
Point72 is an international asset management organization with a total value of over $20.2 billion (as of 01/01/2021) and employs over 1,650 people in 12 offices around the world.
