Around 6,500 companies had solvency issues in 2025
More than 6,500 Polish companies faced insolvency in 2025, up from nearly 5,600 a year earlier, according to Coface data based on court and debt registry records. While bankruptcies rose only slightly to 411 cases, restructurings surged 19% to almost 6,200, reflecting strong cost pressures and the growing use of simplified restructuring tools introduced during the pandemic.
Over 90% of insolvent firms chose restructuring, with fast track arrangements gaining popularity. Services accounted for 28% of cases, followed by trade, construction, manufacturing, and transport. Despite solid GDP growth, many businesses struggled with weak demand, rising costs, and export challenges. Insolvencies are expected to rise further to about 7,500 in 2026.
