Poland’s state development bank Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego has secured international financing to support a major defense contract with South Korea’s Hyundai Rotem. The funds will enable the Armament Agency to execute a deal worth about USD 6.5 billion for the delivery of K2 tank systems, including technology transfer and logistical support. BGK signed loan agreements with Banco Santander, Santander Bank Polska, and Korea’s Korea Export-Import Bank, with backing from Korean export agencies. The financing will flow into the Armed Forces Support Fund, strengthening Poland’s defense capabilities.

BGK highlighted that long-term international funding helps optimize costs and positions Poland as a European leader in defense financing.
