In March 2025, demand for housing loans in Poland rose by 33.3% y/y, with the number of applications increasing by 24.6%, according to the Credit Information Bureau (BIK). A total of 36,940 people applied for a mortgage, compared to 29,650 in March 2024. The average loan amount reached a record high of PLN 460,100—up 7% y/y and 2.4% compared to February 2025.

The monthly increase in applicants was 11.6%, the highest since January 2024. Factors driving demand include falling property prices—especially on the secondary market—and anticipation of a new government support program. BIK also noted a trend toward joint applications, often for more expensive properties, contributing to the rise in average loan amounts.
