Center for Combating Disinformation will be used to secure elections in ‘27
Poland’s new Counter-Disinformation Center will help protect the 2027 parliamentary elections through a government program called “Secure Elections 2027.” Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said the program will monitor election-related disinformation, efforts to undermine trust in the voting process, and coordinated attacks on Poland’s information environment.
The center will coordinate work by the government, the National Research Institute (NASK), the Government Security Center, and state security services. It will also work closely with the National Electoral Commission and share information about disinformation campaigns and false narratives.
Gawkowski said authorities identified 24,000 disinformation incidents before the 2025 elections and had 16,000 accounts removed. He expects the challenge to grow in 2027.
