Military Aviation Works from Łódź signs agreement with GE worth PLN 500 million
Łódź-based Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze (WZL-1), part of Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), signed an offset agreement with GE on Sept. 28, 2026, worth over PLN 500 mln. It covers servicing engines for the 96 Apache attack helicopters purchased by Poland, with total Apache-related offsets valued at PLN 1.2 bln. GE will provide service licenses, know-how and equipment; the production line should be ready in October 2027, with first engines serviced in 2028.
Helicopter deliveries run from 2028 to 2032. WZL-1 also has deals with Lockheed Martin (about PLN 300 mln), Boeing (PLN 400 mln) and Honeywell (PLN 300 mln). The company must roughly double its workforce of 650, and finding qualified staff is a challenge.
