Labor productivity in industry, measured by output sold per employee, increased by 15 percent y/y in January-September 2021, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported in a press release.
At that time, employment increased by 0.4 percent and the average gross monthly salary increased by 8.8 percent, the press release said.
In turn, new orders in the industry increased by 17.7 percent y/y in September 2021. In monthly terms, there was an increase of 10.5 percent y/y, the GUS announced.
Orders for exports and exports increased in September by 10.8 percent y/y and increased by 13.4 percent in monthly terms.
The Industrial New Orders indicator is used to assess future production and shows the development of demand for industrial goods and services. Orders in the industry are defined as the value of contracts (excluding VAT) binding the manufacturer and a third party for the provision of goods and services.
