Contracts for offshore wind farm signed for operation and servicing
Baltic Power, the offshore wind farm developed by Orlen and Canada’s Northland Power, has signed a series of operations and maintenance contracts ahead of its planned launch in the Baltic Sea. The agreements cover three main areas: underwater infrastructure inspections, above-water infrastructure maintenance, and wind turbine servicing. FON Offshore Services Polska will handle underwater works, supported by partners including MEWO, GEOxyz and the Maritime Institute in Gdynia. Omexom and Electrum Solutions will maintain offshore and onshore substations, while Vestas will service the turbines.
The project has already installed 46 of its planned 76 turbines and is expected to start producing electricity in 2026. With 1,140 MW of capacity, Baltic Power should generate around 4 TWh annually, equal to nearly 3% of Poland’s electricity demand.
