Energy costs in Germany going down, in Poland they are rising
Germany will cap electricity prices for energy-intensive industries at €0.05/kWh for three years starting in 2026, backed by state subsidies worth €3–5 billion. The Bundestag also approved reductions in grid fees, aimed at restoring the competitiveness of German industry. Meanwhile, Polish industries face rising costs, including a hike in capacity charges. According to industry data, Polish companies now pay some of the highest energy prices in the EU, with grid fees twice the EU average and total energy costs significantly higher than in France, Spain, or Germany.
Polish energy-intensive firms risk losing competitiveness in both European and global markets. Industry leaders are calling for urgent EU-level solutions to stabilize energy prices and secure long-term industrial viability.
