Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Wednesday that he had extended the decision obliging energy companies to buy and import coal suitable for individual households until the end of the heating season.
"We are on track to secure enough coal not only to meet the demand to the end of the year but also to the end of the heating season,” Morawiecki said, adding that he prefers that Poland has too much coal than too little.
In mid-July, the prime minister issued a decision obliging PGE Paliwa and Węglokoks to buy and import by the end of October a total of 4.5 million tonnes of coal for households.
