Foreign investments grow globally, only slightly in Poland
Global foreign direct investment rose in 2025 after two years of decline, but Poland recorded a slight fall. According to UNCTAD, FDI inflows to Poland reached USD 13.9 bln, down 1.9% y/y, although the value of greenfield projects increased by 9.2% to USD 16.3 bln. Worldwide FDI grew by 6% to USD 1.6 tln, driven mainly by data centres, oil and gas, and semiconductors, while many other sectors weakened. The US remained the top destination, followed by markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
Poland was again outside the global top 20. The outlook for 2026 is uncertain, with investment decisions shaped by trade instability, geopolitical tensions, high financing costs and stronger competition for strategic projects.
